Freeski Magazine best ski shop Shoreline of TahoeYes, its true, lake Tahoe’s Number one Snowboard Shop, just got a shout out from Freeskier Magazine. Freeski magazine recognized Shoreline of Tahoe as the best freeride ski shop in South Lake Tahoe, they went on to talk about our great selection of twin tip skis, and expert advice. Wow this was a great surprise for us, we really try our best, to give the best service, and information to all who seek to improve their mountain experience. Skier or Snowboarder, we want to equip you with the gear that the Ski or snowboard industry has to offer. To us its like being the best match maker, a marriage of sorts. We listen to what our customers are saying, how they ski, where they ski, how often they ski, problems their having, and the direction they want to go with their skiing. We marry the skiers flesh and bones, to wood and metal so they can become one with their skis. This is how we became # 1 in both Skiing and snowboarding.

LIMITED EDITION ANTHEM SKIS
OCTOLAND & SPIRALS by ERIC POLLARD

Eric Pollard is one of the few skiers respected world-wide not only for his forward thinking and creative skiing style, but also for his artwork (link to NS story D-Structure art show). So when we needed unique graphics for a limited edition release of one of our most popular freestyle skis, It was obvious we need to give the project to Pollard.

Eric has created 2 new graphic versions of the original Anthem (link to pop up of Anthem Story). The construction is the same, but the graphics are as one-of-a-kind as Pollard’s skiing. If you’re looking for skis that no one else has, that will set you apart from the rest, then this is the model you’ve been waiting for. Remember there are very limited quantities. With less than 150 pair, per size, per model world wide, they won’t last long.

The Original Anthem Story
If you’re a core long time Line fan, you are probably thinking these skis look familiar. . . well you’re right! This is the story of the Original Anthem.

It was the fall of 2006, our website was launching, ski magazines were out and we were about to ship shops the most progressive park ski of the time. It was a new model called the Anthem with a mind blowing 93mm waist, Butterzones, 100% symmetric, center mounted jib ski designed to slay the park. The graphics were as unique as it’s design. It was a collage of rock and roll musicians with the best base graphics ever conceived, zebra stripes. It was all hand drawn by our in-house artist of the time, Tim Clayton. Skiing and rock and roll! whats not to like? Even Maxim magazine called us to feature it in their gear section. It was then that the Anthem’s luck turned for the worst. Not long after Maxim hit the stands we received a call from someone accusing us of using their image in the graphics. Being the small brand we are, we weren’t about to go to court over it, so the ski never made it to market.

It was a sad day for the Anthem, and even sadder for all of the skier’s like us, envisioning what was possible with those dream skis on our feet. This summer we committed to bringing these living legends of progression back to life. They have now been graphically re-incarnated in the form of Octoland and Sprials by Eric Pollard. These skis will now live forever becoming over time one of the most talked about parts of Line’s Anthem history

Rome Snowboards

ROME LIMITED EDITION BOARDS—THE POSTERMANIA AND ANTHEM SS
With snow flying in Tahoe and the resorts opening up in Lake Tahoe, the Rome SDS is introducing their 2008-09 Limited Edition Collection: two limited-edition new board designs featuring two new camber lines to enhance your park and powder pleasures—the Postermania 1985 and Anthem Superlight Series (SS).

To slide in between the Artifact 1985 and the Notch 1985, Rome unveils the reverse-camber Postermania 1985. While the Artifact 1985 is dialed in for late night rail sessions and the Notch 1985 prefers tree lines and pow-filled gullies, the Postermania for riders who like to shred jumps, powder lines, rails and ledges. With Rome’s Reverse-Free camber line tuned for a pure freestyle approach to the mountain and park, this profile also gives the board a natural de-cambered shape when up on edge for better edge hold and control through a turn. It also lets the rider generate more edge pressure in the tip and tail for stronger turn initiation and completion.

Created for riders who value first chair on a pow day, who ride inbounds with power, and who are down to hike for untracked chutes, the other limited edition deck in the collection is the high-tech Anthem Superlight Series (SS). Loaded with innovations like the Airpop Core, the bamboo-driven PowerAmp Technology, and the CarbonBiax Alloy Laminate, the Anthem SS is a super-poppy, kill-it-all model that rivals the Rome Design for lightness. Rome’s new Hybrid camber profile combines the pop of camber for most of the body of the board, with the added float of reverse camber in the nose and tail.
