Volcom Goes Hee-Haw at the (SIA) Ski Industry of America trade show. Leave it to Volcom to make alot of noise, spew hay all over the Ski Show and have a great time doing it. From the beginning Volcom has done it’s own thing, one might say they think out side the box…but they would say “wow you mean to tell me there’s a box?” Volcom’s outrageous behavior has cost them over the years, known to be fined at trade shows is just the beginning. Most of their trouble is in the noise department, this year was tame in light of their heavy metal theme a few years ago. the best thing about all this distraction is it gives those who are moaning about the poor economy something else to complain about.

Kenny “Skindog” Collins seen here as he truly is… a low life country western want-ta-be…how far he’s fallen from is pro surfing days…..poor kenny someone ought to get him pick up truck.

Even Bank robbers on a budget shop Shoreline

Even Bank robbers on a budget shop Shoreline

I Woke up Friday Morning, wondered out to fetch the Tahoe Daily Tribune, on the inside page was a surveillance picture of a bank robber. My first thought was “wow that looks like one of my customers” the truth of the matter is he looked like a lot of my customers. This guy, robbed the El Dorado Savings and Loan at 942 Emerald Bay Road on Wednesday, 1-7-2009. Now on Thursday, The Suspect came into Shoreline and asked to buy some shoes, the shoreline employee said we don’t sell shoes here we have them at our other shop next to the Heavenly Gondola. he then said how about snowboard boots?, Oh yea, we have tons of Snowboard boots in stock. So he picked out one of last years styles on sale…wow the economy must really be bad when Bank robbers have to shop the sale rack. The suspect then said he needs then in a size 11, the shoreline employee checks our inventory to find we only had a size 9 left in that style snowboard boot. The Suspect says I’ll Take em…He then then asked for us to dispose of his shoes, and walked out of the shop. On Friday the FBI paid us a visit, with pictures of our Shoe turned to snowboard boot customer, the shoreline employee said oh yea that’s the guy.
This episode has caused me to ponder, what the future may bring in regards to how our post modern, if it feels good do it generation will deal with a 2nd great depression? If the economy continues to be down sized, how will we behave? As it becomes impossible for many to keep snowboarding because of the cost of lift tickets, and equipment, will some resort to crimes to help them pay for their addiction to snowboarding? During the depression, Americans didn’t in great numbers turn to crime to solve their problems, there was a common set of morals that ruled American’s hearts. Americans were raised by their mostly God fearing Christian parents who taught the Bible. I think when we as a people stopped instilling the fear of God into our children, we opened the door to lawlessness. This lawlessness is bad that the only way to control it is to have a cop for every American, an a cop for every cop. You see, knowing that a loving and just God is looking over you, tends to help keep you on the straight and narrow.

I feel sorry for you dude, Repent.

I feel sorry for you dude, Repent.

Bank robbery is an old school crime, there is so much High tech crime occurring now days, Identify thief, Stock market scams, greedy CEO’s, Crooked banks, etc. We are so concerned about identify thief, but what if Old school crimes come back in a big way? Have you ever had your snowboard stolen? could you imagine that increasing? how about your bike? your car? It would turn our way of life into a war zone. So lets go back to fearing God, and obeying the laws, because we can all get through this if we just live within our means.
