Kids rock the world, One of the best things about being a kid is the fact that you can just do what ever you want with the freedom to not care about what other people think. The sadest thing to watch is when a kid trys to be cool, and starts to worry about what others think, in other words they stop playing. Playing is such a great thing, to just lose yourself in the art of playing is such a god given blesssing. The creativity of playing is the birth place of ideas. Heavenly’s progressive parks start here; whether trying a trick for the first time or just out for some jibbing fun, the Groove Terrain Park is the place for you. Groove is the smallest of the Heavenly parks with beginner features including boxes, rails, wedges, bonks, recycled pieces and small jumps. If you’re looking for a place to warm-up, this is it. And if you’re out on the hill with your little brother or sister and they want some freestyle pointers, start at the Groove Terrain Park – it will provide you with all the terrain and features you need to give some helpful tips.

The Winter Dew Tour. is a 3 stop winter tour (Breckenridge, Mount Snow, and Northstar-at-Tahoe) owned by NBC Sports and MTV Networks.Our tour consists of Men’s and Women’s Superpipe and Slopestyle. Our athletes include Shaun White, Hanna Teter, Tanner Hall, Andreas Wiig, Kelly Clark, Simon Dumont, Sarah Burke, and Travis Rice. We kicked off our season at Breckenridge in December and we are quickly approaching our second stop at Mount Snow in Vermont. Our 3rd stop brings us to Northstar-at-Tahoe in February. The Shoreline Crew will be there in full force…Can’t wait!

The Heavenly Comet Terrain Park is well worth it, Heavenly can make snow, and that’s what it takes to have a great park. I ran into Bill Killebrew in the post office today, Bill and his family owned Heavenly when I first moved to tahoe in 1981, that was the year that Tahoe didn’t see any snow until January 27 Heavenly open up on the 28th, from that point on Heavenly, invested in Snowmaking. It was Bill who took charge early on before any of the other mountains saw the importance in having the power to blow snow. On the east coast and Midwest snowmaking was already the norm because the hills were small and the storms infrequent. Many out west thought Heavenly was crazy to try to run miles of pipes to blow snow all over the mountain….it was way to big!, So today I thanked Bill for buying all that snow making equipment, and as you can see in this vid clip Joanna is pretty thankful too…

Heavenly’s snowmaking did it! great job snowmakers! Years like these can be frustrating, but you just have to let it go as something that is out of your control. The ski industry is very quick to go negative on all the problems we face, but this will only in crease tensions on the mountain. lets all keep an attitude of gratefulness for we we do have, because we’re all in this together. Meanwhile Pray for snow!

Heavenly known for the best man made snow on the planet still needs cold weather to make snow…..So when all is said and done, God is still in in control…..relax we’re in good hands, it will happen….In his time, not ours…..
