Weighing less than half of traditional top sheets, Membrain® maintains a smooth feel by infusing urethane into fabric. Along with pushing limits in the world of lightweight, this process also allows us to push the boundaries when it comes to graphics. By utilizing the textures and aesthetics associated with a variety of fabrics, Ride is able to achieve graphic tricks that are simply not possible with conventional printing techniques. Ask Marie-France Roy

Ask Marie-France Roy

Marie-France Roy or MFR for short has carved a couple hours out of her schedule to sit down for the next live Rome SDS Ask the Rider Twitter Interview this Friday, October 16th.

Aside from being one of the nicest most easy going people you could hope to meet, MFR pretty much kills it on a snowboard. Dropping new stuff every season and still in her prime, she’s already put together one hell of a resume. When you look at some of the stuff she’s been up to, it’s enough to make any sideways slider jealous.

The questions are up to you. How was filming the Team Shoot Out? How was filming with Absinthe this past season? Any good stories from your recent trip to Japan? Would you consider dating a guy that isn’t as good as you at snowboarding (also known as 99.99% of the male snowboarding population)?

Really ask whatever you want, and as an added bonus, we’ll be hooking up one lucky question-tweeter with their choice of a new pair of Strut or United bindings.

Here’s how it will work: ?

1 Log on to Twitter at the designated time
2. Submit your question in the “What Are You Doing?” box
3. End your question with a #Rometeam
4. MFR will fire back his answers to your questions

So if you need some tips on back fives, need MFR’s opinion on your Haloween costume this year, her thoughts on the new Lo-Fi 1985, or are just looking for some gardening advice, make sure to hit up the Rome Twitter account during the following times and she’ll get back to you in real time.

3-5 Eastern?
2-4 Central
1-3 Mountain
12-2 Pacific

Stay tuned to www.romesnowboards.com and www.twitter.com/romesds for more updates on the happenings of the Rome SDS.

You have obviously seen snowboarding on T.V. over the past decade, but in the past two years it seems to be every other commercial break or T.V. show that you catch a glimpse of your favorite pro snowboarder. When will it end? Well, it won’t. Ride is stoked to embark in the exciting world of commercial broadcasting thanks to outlets like Fuel T.V., Youtube, podcasts and every other T.V., website and channel out there. And as with everything we do at Ride, we are going to have fun in the process. Just take this new commercial we produced…how could we go wrong? I mean seriously, put a mustache on Mikey and it was almost finished!

Here you can find the full length 3 minute version of our Ride webisode starring Slimewalls® as themselves, Mikey Leblanc as “Officer Leblanc”, Nico Droz as “shop kid” and Darrell Mathes as “Slimewall Junkie”. A shorter 30 second commercial will be broadcast on Fuel T.V. starting in October. Stay tuned for more from Ride studios and in the meantime, we hope you enjoy our webisode.

pulp shorelineHere is a thought that is over looked when Shopping online. Retailers are doing all they can to get you to buy from their site. From the consumer’s point of view, they often think that is all come down to price only, but over look the expert advice, they receive from a specialty snowboard shop. Specialty Snowboard Shops don’t put together package deals online in a one size fits all way. One way to determine if a shop has your best interest in mind is weather or not they bundle together packages Boards, boots, bindings, at a great discount. The motive behind this type of packaging is greater profit for the retailer. In most cases they purchase large amounts of boards boots and bindings that don’t sell. So the question to ask is why didn’t they sell? So lets go through why these items didn’t sell. The number one reason, a board doesn’t sell is graphics, I remember the year Danny Kass one the Olympic gold, his board’s graphic was this overly punk thing that you got tired of after 10 seconds, but the board it’s self was great! So in a package deal, they may be some good decks offered. The other boards you find in these packages are made for packages. These boards are made with the motive of making it as cheap as possible, often heavier, less responsive, and prone to fall apart. The same can be said about both boots and binding.
The bindings have a job to do, they must hold your boot firmly down to your board, so your able to control your board. Some of the cheaper plastics, will stretch allowing your boot to lift up in the binding. Depending on what kind of riding you do this could be a good or bad thing. Some forgiveness from you bindings if your focus is park riding, is a good thing, being able to tweak your equipment, is desirable. If your focus is improved stability at high speeds then a stiffer binding is what you want.
The reason boots don’t sell in a small way is how they look, but a far bigger reason is fit. If your shopping packages online, with the motive of saving as much money as possible, keep in mind when it comes to boots, not all boots fit all feet. People are funny, the boot is the most important part of your equipment and is often the piece of equipment that people put the least amount of thought into. The odds are against you getting a comfortable boot that can hold your foot firmly down.
So buyer beware, if an online dealer is offering a package deal, there is a good chance that you may suffer in pain and lack the performance you want.
We want to offer our customers a package deal but don’t want to take away your freedom to get the right gear.
So pick out the best gear for you, feel free to give us a call toll free 888-866-7669 (snow) if you have any further questions about your package. We want to reward you for buying from us. So pick out any 2010 snowboarding gear… Board, boots and bindings then put in the coupon code put the word “Package” and you’ll receive 10% off your package. The Coupon code will only work with 2010 equipment, that totals over $700.00 before discount. Sorry small kids packages are not included.

Ride Machete shorelineMore pop in our rock.
Ride LowRize Rocker eliminates the hook, but maintains full ollie pop and landing lock. Anybody can simply reverse the camber of their existing boards, but making a better performing rocker board takes dedication and innovation. Through extensive testing we developed our new Radial BlendZ sidecut and rocker profiles together to provide optimal hook-free goodness and allow you to lock in big landings without the fear of Rocker Washout. LowRize Rocker has a flat profile through the center of the board and then begins the rocker at the extended Blend Zone to lift the contact points just out of the snow. Combined with our proven 85A Slimewalls®, this rocker will outperform whether in the park, on the groomers or floating the deep stuff. No hooks, no catches, no gimmicks, just pure performance and a super smooth Ride.
