technormousBroknowogy[1]This is Classic Mike Olson at his best, talking up some of his crazy Ideas that have made him one of snowboardings’ most loved founders. In this interview he tells us about a board no one else has ridden, he claims it is the best board he has ever ridden! The Magic Banana is some what of a mystery board, over two years in the making, launched under the nick name “Skate Obama” then never delivered under that name for fear the president would try to pay off the national dept by talking over Mervin manufacturing. Now finally it is ready for 2010 season. We did ride one last Spring, the feed back was off the hook.

The good ideas are still being churned out of Mervin Manufacturing, their latest design gives the rider equal turning, heel and toe side. The Patent Pending Proprietary Park Pickle Product will be included in the 2010 Gnu Snowboard line. Based on the idea that heel side turns require more leverage than toe side turns, the Park Pick will have a deeper side cut on the heel side. The board is a true twin shape with a centered stance so it can be ridden with either goofy or regular and includes Mervin Mfg’s exclusive use of Banana Technology.
2010_GNU_Park_Pickle_10x300-1 The Park Pickle achieves perfect balance through asymmetry, a deeper side cut and asymmetric core on the heel edge balances your foots asymmetry and the different turn mechanics between heel and toe turns. Twin Asymmetric Banana Magnetraction design is the future of all terrain freestyle performance snowboards. Pickle Power

sunlight2Summer is here and now is the time to protect the only set of eyes you have from the sun’s harmful rays.  Most people are aware of the dangerous effects ultraviolet (UV) rays have on their skin, but many people don’t realize the damaging effects these UV rays have on their eyes.  UV radiation, whether from natural sunlight or artificial UV rays, can damage the eye’s surface tissues as well as the cornea and lens.  UV radiation can burn the front surface of the eye, similar to sunburn on the skin.  Extended exposure to the sun’s UV rays has been linked to eye damage, including cataracts, macular degeneration, pingueculae, pterygia and photokeratitis (snow blindness) that can cause temporary vision loss.  Short of becoming nocturnal, the best way to protect your eyes is to wear sunglasses that block 100% of UV Rays.  All of the sunglasses from the Sunglass Outlet  block 100% of harmful UV Rays and right now we want to celebrate lifelong vision health by offering 20% off all sunglasses!  Simply enter the coupon code “Ultraviolet” at the checkout and you will receive 20% off the shades of your choice.  Be smart, you only get one set of eyes!
